Technical Product Work

In order to truly understand products and how technology is made, I dove head-first into an opportunity to immerse myself in the experience of Product Management. The best way to do that was to actually have a job leading engineering to build and launch technical customer-facing products.

Products I built and released

Unified Data Table Component Charting, DSP

With my background in Advertising, I worked as a product manager to create a charting component that lets users view trend data and make optimization decisions without leaving the campaign management view. It's customizable by selecting metrics from a drop-down list and available on advertiser orders, line items, and order-line item pages. This saves users time and improves customer satisfaction by eliminating the need for a separate performance dashboard. I saw this through from start to finish.

Simplified Line Item Forms, DSP

As the coordinator for the final development and release of Simplified Line Item Forms, I ensured a streamlined and efficient experience for advertisers. This new interface allows for easy creation and editing of line items through a simplified workflow and a quick summary of settings. We also simplified settings by introducing new grouping and ordering features and a panel-based experience to reduce complexity. This new line item detail page improves campaign manager efficiency by providing a simple and easy-to-use experience.

GameLift Anywhere, GameLift

I orchestrated the building and release of a hybrid cloud platform that frees game developers from managing infrastructure. It delivers instant compute power for testing and iterating game builds. Customers can also use their own infrastructure with cloud servers. With this platform, game developers and customers can focus on unleashing their creativity without worrying about infrastructure complexities. It saves them ample time too, by not forcing them to upload their build to the cloud each time.

.Net 6 and Go Server SDKs, GameLift

I led the creation of the latest Amazon GameLift Server SDK update. It now supports Go and .NET 6, seamlessly integrating with game servers. Amazon GameLift manages and scales dedicated game servers for session-based multiplayer games, and the updated Server SDK supports Unity 2020.3, Unreal 4.26, Go, and custom C++ and C# engines. For C# game servers, the updated SDK includes two variants, one for .NET 4 and another for .NET 6, both designed to work with GameLift Anywhere and the latest Server SDK 5.0 version.

Operating System Migration Strategy, GameLift

As the author of the narrative document outlining GameLift's strategy for handling the end of support for Windows 2012 and Amazon Linux 1, I presented our plan to executive leadership and am overseeing its implementation. This strategy is critical as it impacts a majority of our customers and involves ensuring a clean path to migration. Our plan includes providing customers with clear guidance on migration paths, offering tools and resources to facilitate the transition, and ensuring seamless integration with our platform. By proactively addressing the end of support for these operating systems, we are able to minimize disruption for our customers and maintain the reliability and security of the service.

GameLift Local Zones

Building support for an infrastructure design that allows customers to tap into local computing resources to reduce latency in their games by diminishing the distance between the hardware running computing power.
